The condo case

Village condos trade privacy for convenience. Ski-in access, no snow to move, and a lock-and-leave profile that suits owners who visit twice a month. Fees do the maintenance work for you, but read the status certificate carefully: reserve funds and rental rules vary building to building more than most buyers expect.

How I would decide

If you will use it most weekends and want the property to grow with your family, the chalet math usually wins over ten years. If your visits are shorter and less frequent, the condo's lower friction keeps a second property fun instead of becoming a second job.
